Arthur died of Influenza at No9 Canadian General Hospital, Kimmel Park. His son Edwin served in WW2, he was Pte Edwin Donald Whatmough, 406835, 7th Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, who died 28.09.1944.
