Following his enlistment George was initially discharged as undesirable, 27/07/1915. He had a brother who also served during the Great War, he was Pte Harry McKay Dakers 132570, 73rd Battalion, Canadian Infantry. George listed a David Dakers, 2049 Cartier St, Montreal, as his next of kin when he enlisted.
