More about John Cook

John has no known grave but is remembered on the Vimy Memorial. He had 2 brothers who both served during the Great War, they were, Pte Charles Cook 49128, Remount Depot, Canadian Army Veterinary Corps and Pte James Cook 136324, No2 Company, Canadian Forestry Corps. John’s children were put in the care of a guardian ( Robert E Cook, 640 Queen St,  Toronto) following the death of his wife in 1915. His medals were awarded to his eldest son John.

For reasons unknown John Cook is not included on the original Dundee City Roll of Honour but he is remembered in the Arbroath Roll of Honour book and on the Arbirlot Church War Memorial.
