Angus had two brothers who served during the Great War, they were, Cpl Francis Macdonald 472327, Canadian Army Service Corps, who returned home safely, and Pte James Campbell Macdonald, S/32096, 6th Battalion, Cameron Highlanders, who died of wounds, 24.08.1918.

Angus homesteaded (farmed) SW33 – 34 – 14 – W2 southeast of Paswegin but was working at Wakaw when he enlisted.
