Although Robert was not originally from Dundee his name was included in the original Honour Roll for Dundee. He was the eldest son of Robert and Elizabeth Brown of 22 Baldovan Tce, Dundee, his parents are also recorded as residing at 54 Kenilworth Ave, Dundee. Robert was the brother of Sgt Thomas Brodie Brown, 648114, 159th Battalion, Canadian Infantry, Thomas was struck off strength for a commission in the 4th Battalion, Black Watch.
