Joseph was the brother of Driver Robert Weir, 636897, Royal Field Artillery, who also served during the Great War and returned home safely.

Joseph Weir  3315  4th Black Watch

DIED OF WOUNDS.

Private Joseph Weir of the 4th Black Watch who was reported in the Courier to have died of wounds.  Private Weir died in hospital at Boulogne from paralysis resulting from a wound.  He was 18 years of age, and his home was at 17 Hill Street.
