There is no Thomas Scrimgeour/Scrymgeour 201707, Royal Scots Fusiliers listed on either C.W.G.C. or S.D.G.W. although his photo appears in the Peoples Journal War Supplement, published in 1925 (see attached photo)
Thomas is recorded as having been discharged from the army and his cause if death is recorded as being due to influenza & pneumonia.
