Son of James and Mary Piggott, 10 Dennison Ave, Weston, Ontario. Johns father and three brothers all served in the Great War, they were Pte David William Piggott 23041, of the 2nd Battalion, Canadian Infantry who died of wounds 5 June 1916, Pte James Piggott Sr, 1282922, No2 Special Service Company, Canadian Army Service Corps, James Piggott Jr who served with the Scots Guards, the youngest brother Thomas Piggott 2738007, Sapper, Canadian Engineers, who died 21 December 1918 in Canada.

PIGGOTT—Killed in action, on the 23d July 1916, No. 2030 Private John Piggott, Black Watch, aged 19 years, third son of Mr and Mrs James Piggott, Quebec, late 151 Victoria Road, Dundee, also D. W. Piggott, an elder brother, who came over with the Canadians, died of wounds received on 2d June 1916.
