George has no known grave but is remembered on the Loos Memorial
3 of his brothers also fell, they were, Sergeant James Neil 7047, 2nd Battalion, Highland Light Infantry, killed in action 15.05.1915, Driver Robert Neil 18417, 69th Field Company, Royal Engineers, died 07.03.1919 & Sergeant William Neil 7459, 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry, killed in action 17.05.1915. His brother Alexander served as a Private with the 2nd Divisional Train, Canadian Army Service Corps, 135936, and returned home safely.

NEIL___Killed in action in France, on the 25th September, 1915, 2130 Drummer George H. Neil, aged 25 years, of the 2d Black Watch, I.E.F., youngest son of Mrs S. Neil, 2 Kinnaird Street, also on the 17th May, 1915, Sergeants James and William Neil, 2d H.L.I., eldest and second sons of Mrs Neil, 2 Kinnaird Street, Dundee.
