Alexander Moffat 241824 Gordon Highlanders
Mrs Moffat, 30 Springhill, Dundee, has received official intimation that one of her three soldier sons has died of wounds. The deceased, Lance-Corporal Alexander Moffat, Gordon Highlanders, was wounded on 17th July and died the same day from his injuries. He was 31 years of age, and joined up towards the end of 1916. He had been thirteen months in France, and had been slightly wounded on a former occasion. The Lance-Corporal was expected home shortly on Furlough.

His brother George served with the 1st Battalion, Australian Infantry and his brother James served with the Royal Army Service Corps, both brothers survived the war.
