David has no known grave but is remembered on the Arras Memorial. He was the Brother of Pte James Watson Lesslie 240771, 1st/5th Battalion, Black Watch who died 27.11.1918 in Germany and Pte Colin Johnstone Lesslie, 21645, Gordon Highlanders who returned home safely.

DUNDEE GORDON FALLS IN ACTION.

Mr & Mrs Lesslie, 105 Hawkhill, have received official intimation that their second eldest son, Pte. David Lesslie, Gordon Highlanders, was killed in action on the 26th July.  Deceased, was 21 years of age, was wounded in September, 1916, and later returned to the firing line.  Pte. Lesslie joined up in February, 1915, and prior to enlistment was employed as a bricklayer with Mr John Carnegie, 35 Seafield Road.  Two brothers are serving.
