Both C.W.G.C. & S.D.G.W. record this mans surname as Dignam. Joseph’s brother John served during the Great War and during WW2 was a Gunner with 76th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery and died due to an accident whilst serving in France on 18th February 1940. Josephs brother Peter also served during the Great War and returned home safely, he was Pte Peter Dignan, 25930, Highland Light Infantry. His half brother Hector served with the Cameron Highlanders and also returned home safely.
