Allan was the brother of Captain Herbert Stuart Cleghorn, Royal Flying Corps who was killed in action, 02.09.1917 and Engineer Lieutenant Commander William Howie Cleghorn, H.M.S. Mary Rose, who was killed in action 17.10.1917.

DIES OF WOUNDS.

Lieutenant Allan Cleghorn, of the Gordon Highlanders, a former dux medallist of Dundee High School, has died of wounds.

Lieutenant Cleghorn, who was fully twenty years of age, was the youngest son of John Cleghorn, merchant, 20 Meadowside, Dundee, who resides at Clifton, Alyth.  Deceased was studying at Edinburgh University, and shortly after the outbreak of war decided to forgo his studies in order to assist his country.  Mr Cleghorn has three sons in the army, and one in the navy.  William is an engineer-lieutenant-commander in the navy, while Herbert is a captain and John and Alfred are lieutenants in the army.
