Information has come to hand that Pte. John Clapperton, third son of Mr and Mrs Clapperton, 15 Glenagnes Road, Dundee, has been killed in action in France. Pte. Clapperton was well known in the Blackness district, and was a young man of sunny disposition. Previous to enlistment in the Scots Greys twelve months ago he was in business with his father as a dairyman in Glenagnes Road. Mr Clapperton has other two sons serving—one in the Royal Engineers and the other in the Royal Artillery.
