DUNDEE D.C.M. HERO IS KILLED IN ACTION.
Fate has dealt hardly with Private Parick Brady, a Dundee member of the Black Watch. Private Brady was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for bravery in December last, and on 10th March he was killed in action.
The official statement of Private Brady’s distinguished conduct is brief, but it tells of duty nobly done :___”For gallant conduct from 19th to 22d December in throwing bombs into the enemy’s position, the effect of which was that their advance was checked.”
Private Brady was 28 years of age. When war was declared he was in India with his regiment, and he travelled to France with the Indian Expeditionary Force.
Private Brady’s father resides at 23 Mortimer Street.
