David has no known grave but is remembered on the Le Touret Memorial. He was the brother of Pte William Adamson, 9797, 2nd Battalion Black Watch, who died of wounds, 01.08.1915.

DUNDEE GUARDSMAN KILLED

AND HIS BROTHER SERIOUSLY WOUNDED.

Mr and Mrs Wm Adamson, 42 North George Street, Dundee, have received official notification that their son, Private David Adamson, of the 2nd Scots Guards, was killed in action.  The last communication which Private Adamson sent home was a field postcard written on the day before he met his death in acknowledgment of a parcel which his mother had sent to him.  Twenty-seven years of age, Private Adamson had served in the Scots Guards for over three years, and prior to enlistment he was employed as a cattleman at Lundie for over three years.  His elder brother, Private Wm Adamson, of the Black Watch, is at present lying seriously wounded in hospital at Boulogne.  He sustained his wounds on 8th May.

Private Adamson was a reservist, and at the outbreak of war he was employed as a foreman in a Calcutta Mill.  He went to France with the Indian Expeditionary Force.  Private Adamson, who is 30 years of age, has been visited in hospital in Boulogne by his mother, who spent ten days in the French town, and latest advices concerning his condition are favourable.
